West System Fillers
West System Fillers are used to enhance or modify the characteristics of the epoxy so that it is more able to fulfil the function you require. It is particularly important when using these fillers to make a thorough job of mixing the blend. Microfibres A blend of cellulose cotton fibres, used as a thickening additive to give the epoxy improved bonding and gap filling qualities. Add 4 to 16% by weight to the epoxy mix according to your requirements. Cured colour: Off white. Filleting Blend A mix of fibres and other bulking agents to thicken the epoxy so that it can be used to fill holes or produce fillets. The colour can be adjusted by adding alcohol or water based stains to the mix. Add 15 to 25% by weight to the epoxy mix according to your requirements. Cured colour: Tan. Colloidal Silica A general-purpose thickening agent for bonding, gap filling and filleting. It is also used to control the working characteristics of the epoxy and to prevent the flow of epoxy on vertical or overhead applications. Add 3 to 8% by weight to the epoxy mix according to your requirements. Cured colour: Off white. Low Density Filler Blended microballon, based filler for high strength to weight putties that are easy to shape and sand. Add 20 to 40% by weight to the epoxy mix according to your requirements. Cured colour: Dark reddish brown.
