Jet JDP-17F Floor Standing Pillar Drill
The Swiss reputation for precision, once again comes to the fore in the Jet range of drill presses. The Morse taper inside the quill has a guaranteed concentricity of less than 0.03 mm. The spindles are supported by precision ball bearings. As would be expected with drills of this quality, a 16mm keyless precision chuck is part of the standard equipment. The powerful motor is rated for continuous operation. A precision drill depth stop is fitted as standard to all the models. N.B. Due to risk of over balancing it is advisable to bolt the base of the drill to a solid surface before operation.

"Maybe a little expensive (might be interesting to compare to Axminsters own brand drills), but does what it is supposed to without fuss. Only observation is that column could do with being a bit stiffer for drilling in metals - but this is after all described as a woodworking drill, so can't really complain."
