Axminster ZX25M2 Vertical Mill/Drill

This is an excellent value for money vertical mill/drilling machine which could be just the job for any small workshop where there is the need to produce small metal components. The arbor is driven by a 750W motor through a double V-belt and pulley system which gives a choice of speeds in the range 12 from 90 to 2,150rpm. There is a micro switch on the belt guard which ensures that the motor cannot run with the guard open. The complete head can be moved up and down the column by means of a rack-and-pinion drive and, once in position, is held securely with two clamp bolts. The quill, which carries the chuck or the end mill holder, can be moved either with the normal down-feed handle on the side of the head for coarse movement or, with the handle locked, by means of the calibrated fine down-feed handle. The table, which has three T-slots for securing the work directly or in a milling vice, is positioned in the two horizontal axes with large diameter control wheels calibrated with metric graduations. There are two movable stops on the front face of the table which can be locked in position to limit the length of travel of the table. The machine can either be mounted on a suitable heavy duty bench or on the optional stand. Standard equipment includes a 63mm diameter facing cutter, 13mm capacity drill chuck and arbor, spanners and drift for removing the drill chuck. There is a full range of end mills and end mill holders fully detailed later on in this section. N.B. All graduations are in metric. Another useful accessory is the power feed unit, Order No (700095), which can be fitted to the left hand end of the table to provide a smooth variable speed drive to the traverse travel. The optional stand is made of heavy duty steel sheet and measures 710mm high, 545mm wide and 610mm deep.
