This floor standing radial drill features a two-part work table for use with the drill at its maximum extension and a solid cast iron handle. It has the advantage that it can be tucked away in a corner of the workshop, will not take up valuable bench space and will, of course, accommodate much longer workpieces. It is essential that the drill is secured firmly to the floor in order to prevent overbalancing. One word of warning - the chuck is located in the drive quill with the conventional Morse taper which requires axial loading to keep it securely in place; if the head is used in the horizontal position in conjunction with a sanding drum or polishing mop there is a risk of the chuck coming loose. Not suitable for use with morticing attachment.
