Separate cramp heads, rather than complete sash cramps, are the answer to many a cramping problem in both the woodworking and metalworking fields. They offer complete flexibility in the choice of both length and material for the bar, with timber being used for light weight and ease of working and metal box section for the ultimate in rigidity. These deluxe cramp heads are strongly made from cast iron and steel and feature an ingenious elongated pin hole which improves the clamping performance no end. When force is applied to the jaw faces the stocks try to slide back against the pins and are driven down against the bar with equal force, maintaining the jaws at 90° to the bar. Cramp heads also make excellent components for purpose made jigs - only your imagination will limit their use. The maximum bar width is 25mm and the depth is unlimited (within reason!).
