The SBW3501E, with its high specification and modest price, is a very popular machine for the classroom or technicians workshop. The combination of rigidly built steel body, finely ground cast iron table, deep section rip fence and fully adjustable ball bearing blade guides produce the level of accuracy demanded in modern industry. The rip fence runs on a calibrated aluminium extrusion and is locked firmly in place with an over centre lever, giving a firm and accurate location. The adjustable precision mitre fence is T-slotted into the table for added safety and accuracy. At the rear of the machine are the blade tracking control, the blade tension indicator and a quick action blade tension lever, useful for both blade changing and for releasing the tension on the blade when the machine is not in use. Safety features include an electro-mechanical motor brake, interlocked and micro switched doors and a key released conveniently located Emergency Stop switch. Supplied complete with floor stand, rip fence, mitre fence and blade.
Most importantly, this machine is fully compliant with the braking requirements of PUWER 98 in conjunction with the provision of BS4163:2000 classroom or workshop wall mounted isolation switches. This is a most important added feature, removing the need for expensive electrical systems associated with DC induction braked motors.
