Constructed in cast iron with a finely ground table Ground and hardened slideways Milling head and column tilts to 45° Left & Right
Axminster SIEG X2 Mini Mill
A fine, high precision milling machine, an ideal companion to the C2A lathe. Constructed in cast iron with a finely ground table, ground and hardened slideways and a variable speed spindle drive. The milling head and column can tilt to 45° left or right for angle drilling or slotting. The spindle drive comes from a 350W motor via a 2 speed gearbox and variable speed, giving speed ranges of 100 - 1100rpm (L) / 100 - 2500rpm (H). The headstock quill has a fine downfeed control feature for milling and a rack and pinion downfeed system for drilling. The table leadscrews are covered for protection against swarf and debris. This is a superb, small mill for the model engineer or possibly school use.

Sieg X2 Mini Mill Review
"Excellent Mill when set up correctly, very good value for money. Add an ER32 chuck with a 3MT and also a Stirling Steele belt drive conversion kit to make this an exceptional Milling machine."

Sieg X2 Mini Mill.
"An excellent machine and very good value for money. The first modification I made was to duplicate the drawbar but with a 3/8" Whitworth thread. This enables a much larger range of Axminster tooling to be used, including the 3MT finger collets, boring head, and autolock collet holder."

Sieg X2 Mini Mill
"Superb value, though quite noisy."
- Ian
Good value but has some quirks
"Has the potential to be a great machine but there are one or two minor niggles: (1) the machine is VERY noisy. (2) if a toolbit jams or runs into something hard, kiss the drive train goodbye - it will strip the gears. These issues can both be fixed by converting the machine to belt drive. (3) This machine just doesn't have the mass and rigidity for harder materials, so if you work with stainless steel a lot, get an X3.
However, used within its limits, this is a very sweet piece of kit."
