Although a few would frown upon the use of a scraper, maintaining that a finish should be obtained from the cutting action of a gouge, there are instances, either due to the type of timber or form, where scraping is the only answer. Basically, if it works do it and who's to say that the end result is in any way lessened by the method used to achieve it, still, fashions and fads are always changing!
