The shank is made from SAE4140 steel hardened to Rockwell 45RC, renowned for its hardness and strength, and the tip is made from diamond ground Sandvik micrograin tungsten carbide. A virtual mirror finish ensures a durable, clean cutter capable of holding a sharp edge and a thick Teflon coating enables the cutter to remain free of resin, and is produced with high shearing angles. The top and bottom line indicate the maximum and minimum that the shank should be inserted into the collet. Intermediate lines allow for reinsertion to avoid resetting machine stops after honing etc.
