Axminster Super Precision Straight Edge

A choice of 2 lengths of straight edge, made to a very high standard of accuracy in tool steel. Ground and hand scraped for an almost perfectly flat surface. The quoted accuracy is within 17 microns over the length of the edge for the 600mm unit, 21 microns for the 900mm version. The parallelism of the faces is within 33 microns for the 600mm unit and 40 microns for the 900mm version. The edge is bevelled to provide an excellent visual contact with the workpiece. Straight edges of this accuracy are hard to find and will prove invaluable to anyone requiring a reference straight edge for measurement, setting up of machines or for test purposes.
