Liberon Honing Oil
Although virtually any light, non-drying oil can be used with an oilstone, this is particularly good. Firstly let us congratulate Liberon, they have developed their Lib Net wax cleaner into an excellent honing oil. It is both light and non-drying but has the added advantage of cleaning the stone as it is being used. Oil stones, clogged by years of use with any old oil can be revived by simply switching to Liberon honing oil as the preferred choice. Full marks to the team at Liberon!

"I bought this honing oil as a last attempt to clean my oil stones before i threw them away. Where wire brushes, sand paper, scraping and every method i could think of failed, this succeded, wiped on and off with a tissue it renewed the stones to as new condition. When used for sharpening it produced an incredibly sharp edge i didnt think my tools could ever achieve without re-grinding.
