Although this tool probably had its origins in the coopers' trade for working inside casks it is equally at home hollowing chair seats or large carved bowls. The blade is bevelled on the outside to prevent the edge biting too deep. The tool is pulled towards the worker as with a draw knife, two beechwood handles giving delicate control. Made of top quality German steel. Width across the blade 170mm(6.3/4").
