	To minimise the torque required to insert a SPAX, a polytetrafluoroethylene (similar to Teflon) coating is baked onto the screw, making it easier to drive and at the same time helps prevent corrosion. The coating stays on even after multiple uses. SPAX are both case hardened and stress relieved to leave them still hard without being brittle.

	The SPAX MULTIhead allows transmission of much greater torque without 'cam-out'. A correctly formed socket means the screwdriver tip sits securely in the head. To view the full SPAX range, click here.


Patented MULTIhead	Reduced Torque	4CUT Point
The patented MULTIhead has small ribs on its underside. These self-countersink into the wood's surface, trimming off the hole for a neat flush finish. The ribs also act as a torque limiter helping to prevent tear-out.	The SPAX design reduces the torque required to drive the screw. The ground serrations on the first few threads help the screw to enter the wood. They make the first portion of the thread slightly thicker, opening a path for the following threads, substantially reducing friction and making the screw easier to drive.	SPAX's patented 4CUT point with its square cross section prevents the wood from splitting. No predrilling is necessary. The 4CUT point parts the wood fibres and the SPAX glides effortlessly inwards with each turn.
