This saw simply has so many features Festool have written a 12 page leaflet on it! Without doubt one of the safest and most accurate saws we have seen and one which will impress. The considerable design and thought that has gone into this unit has resulted in a complete sawing system. Supplied complete with 1400mm guide rail and anti-splinter guard, 48T TCT blade, anti-splinter device and Festool SYSTAINER stacking storage case. When joining rails together you will require joining bars these are not supplied with the rails, two bars are recommended to join two rails for extra stability.

"We using this tool for cuttings during kitchens installations at homes (laminate worktops, melamine sides, internal sink and cook tops unit cuttings).It is a pleasure to use it. It is accurate, with excellent chip free cuttings, safe to use, and no dust when use with vacuum. Worth the money because the construction quality is very high and it’s designed to last for years. We use it with disk 491952 this disk needs often sharpening. (The laminate work top is hard material) .We would like the disk to last more. We don’t try yet to use the disk 489457 for corian to say if this disk last more."

"I bought this saw on the basis of excellent reviews and to upgrade my makitta circular. It is an excellent a saw for cutting large panels worktop etc. However it two things should be noted. It is near impossible to do a straight cut by eye due to the difficulty to see the blade. One it comes with no parallel fence which you will need for things like ripping decking as the guide rails are too wide. I purchased the rail but the depth it protruded is only about 10mm of which some of this is bevelled making it difficult to keep the cut straight particularly because the deck was also bevelled. An improved parallel guide needs to be developed and a clear plastic front to see through to the blade would be an advantage. "
