High torque transmission T-star recess head Teflon coated
Spax Premium Quality T-Star Wood Screws
These really are superb screws for high quality work. The Torx head has two major advantages. Hardly any pressure is required to keep the screwdriver tip in the head recess, virtually eliminating the chances of camming out. The transmission of the driving force is radial rather than axial, so less effort is needed, making them easier to drive by hand or by enabling more screws to be driven per battery charge. Screw Size=Bit Size: 3mm=T15, 3.5mm=T15, 4mm=T20, 5mm=T20 & 6mm=T30. Volume Discounts apply to a mix of these items.
Spax T-Star
"Expensive but especially worthwhile in the small 3 gauge size where pozis get driver damage easily. Good quality T15 driver bits can be hard to find so get some Axminster ones, ideally a new one for every two boxes of screws."
- Mr Alan Cooper
Excellent product.
"A real pleasure to use. The T-star head is less tiring to use and more robust than posidriv or philips and the threads bite really effectively. Even the biggest sizes drive easily into softwodd with no pre-boring, which saves lots of time. Try these and you won't go back."
- Mr Matthew Byrne
T* screws
"2 primary advantages - no cam-out when power driving, and driver bits can be easily restored by grinding a tiny amount from the end of the (parallel sided) tip. Try doing that with a Pozi. Costly, but worthwhile. Also, to some extent, T* is still a security fitting."

"Frankly these screws are far superior to phillips screws, no annoying slip or cam out. Why would you use anything else?!!"

T Star screws
"I find them very good for screws usually used in cabinet making - up to 4 X 40. However, in construction sizes (6 X 80, 6 X 100) I find that unless the bit is precisely aligned and significant force applied, they frequently cam out. In such work, there are often awkward angles of approach. One slip and both the bit and screw are damaged. I have had to go back to POSI for these sizes. At least it is always possible to get the damaged screw out with POSI. T- Bit needs to be increased to T25 or T30, if possible."

T star Screws
"not very good, if you are thinking of usinng any screw size below 4mm, you better have a good stock of drivers, no matter how good a quality you use the splines are not up to the job and will forever be replacing them.
Stick to pozidrive, they are far better."
