Axminster CT1 Compound Table
A well made cast iron, two axis compound table with two T slots of 58mm spacing along its length and a fine ground finish. The 475 x 155mm table has excellent travel in both directions and is fitted with adjustable gibs to take up the slack in the slides. Calibration of the wheels is in imperial units; one complete revolution of the wheels moves the table 0.1 in. and there are sub-divisions around each wheel which allow for more precise adjustment of the table travel. Although not a precision device, the cross table is nevertheless a useful aid for drilling patterns of holes and similar jobs and is accurate enough for most non-precision purposes. The T slots are 15mm wide at the table surface, opening out to 20mm wide by 10mm deep for the bolt head. The base is 200 x 270mm, the longer dimension being at right angles to the table. The base slots are 60mm apart, and the table travels are 280mm lengthwise and 155mm fore and aft. Height is 125mm and weight 23.5kg.

Amazing value for money
"This table offers the biggest working area for the lowest price of all the competition, and yet is still of a surprisingly high build quality; certainly accurate enough for most people's needs. It performs light milling jobs with ease (I have it bolted to a SIP b1616 pillar drill) and has proved itself an invaluable addition to my workshop almost overnight ..."

CT1 Compound Table
"Excellant Value for money. VERY large table and good build quality - plenty accurate enough for my (and most peoples' needs). It pays to set it up carefully as per the other comments and you do need a drill press with a decent sized column to avoid/minimize flexing of the drill table."

Larger than I thought
"Absolutely fabulous value for money. With a drill press/ Pillar drill it is ideal for light milling (Hobby use) and works out half the price of buying a dedicated micro milling machine. Its larger than I thought so a better description of the overal size would be good and I had no channel clamps so ended up on another shopping trip for clamps and some heafty plywood to sit it on."

CT1 Compound Table
"This is a low cost Compound Table and it shows. On first sight it appeared poorly finished, the lead screws were rough and covered in swarf and the front/back screw was binding. However, after completely stripping down, cleaning, removal of sharp edges on dovetail leading edges etc it was rebuilt and now works well. Side movement on the slides is minimised with shims which need to be set with care to avoid binding or too much slack. Top bed is surface ground. This is not a precision compound table and should not be bought as such but I consider it is very good value for less demanding tasks requiring calibrated XY movement. I use it on my pillar drill."
