"Expensive for what it is especially when the markings do not start from the edge of the instrument .Accurate & useful for repetive markings or for transferring the marking to another piece of work "

"Excellent device for measuring and marking a distance from the edge of a board. Another reviewer commented on the markings not starting from the edge of the unit, but the reference point on the carrier is aligned with 0 when the slide is at the edge of the board. Shame there isn't an Imperial scale on the other side, otherwise I would give it 5 stars."
