Perform CCWSG Wetstone Grinder

A dual-purpose machine, so perhaps it can be considered double the value. The right-hand side is fitted with a 150mm by 20mm white dry grinding wheel running at 2950rpm and on the left hand side is a gearbox which reduces the speed of the 200mm by 40mm wide whetstone to 120rpm. The white wheel is used for rough grinding, either to reform a bevel or for tools that do not require such a fine edge whilst the wetstone running in a bath of water guarantees that a really super sharp edge can be achieved without any risk of overheating.
The upper edge of the water bath has a series of notches which can be used to support the backs of knives, helping to maintain a constant grinding angle. Chisels and plane irons are simply supported on the straight top edge of the bath to set the required grinding angle. With a little bit of ingenuity some form of home-made rest could be constructed to allow closer control over the grinding angle to be achieved.
