Veritas Tool Rest & Grinding Jig

This is a two part tool rest and grinding jig designed for mounting directly to the bench in front of either a 150mm(6") or 200mm(8") bench grinder. The 4" (100mm) table will straddle grinding wheels up to 1" (25mm) wide and can be set to the required angle using the setting gauge supplied. In the face of the rest there is a slot into which the optional grinding jig (M0601) slides. This jig holds the tool firmly in position whilst grinding in order to give a perfectly straight edge. The positions of the jig clamping screws and the location pin can be altered to cater for different widths of tool and for setting a 30° angle for a skew chisel. The toolrest and the grinding jig can be bought as separate items or, if preferred, as a pair with a useful cost saving. As always with Veritas products this tool rest and its accessories are well thought-out and immaculately produced and should prove to be of great use to the turner or general woodworker.
