Axminster AW16BM Bench Morticer

A superb morticer with good capacities and excellent versatility. The unusual feature of this machine is the ability to rotate the column around both the vertical and horizontal axes. Rotating the column vertically allows mortices to be cut in the edges of doors by clamping the work up against the front of the bench whilst rotating horizontally allows for angled morticing. The substantial cast iron base has two grooves machined into the upper surface in which the back fence glides backwards and forwards. The hold-in clamp is easy to use and quick in operation whilst the hold-down device is adjusted and locked in place off the back column. Quick setting stops are used on all of the swivelling actions so that the unit can be returned back to square quickly and without the need to keep re-checking the settings every time the swivel action is used. Supplied complete with 1/2" chisel & bit, chisel bushings, depth setting gauge and service tools. Takes both 3/4" and 13/16" shank chisels.
