Direct driven by 2.2kW motor (may require 16A supply) Twin cast iron cylinders 50 litres tank c/w two wheels and convenient grab handle and 1/4" Female Quick Release fitting
Axminster AW30HP 3hp Direct Driven Compressor
A compact but powerful unit, featuring twin cast iron cylinders, oil lubricated, ducted air cooled pump, directly driven by a 2.2kW motor. The 50 litres tank is very quickly re-charged and has a variable pressure regulating valve and gauges for monitoring output pressure and tank pressure. The noise level is noticeably unobtrusive and subdued so should not annoy your neighbours. Very portable as it is supplied with two wheels and a convenient grab handle. Able to drive all air tools except the highest air demanding sanders and spray guns, this is an excellent medium sized machine for most workshop situations, such as garages, joinery workshops, and general woodworking. Supplied with a 1/4" BSP Female Quick Release fitting.

Well built compressor!
"For the price I was a little dubious about the quality of this item. It arrived promptly today (on a next day service at 10am!)
Once I got it out of the packaging, which will take two people as its rather awkward without the wheels on, it was easy to see (and feel) it is extremely well put together.
After I bolted the wheels on, screwed on the air filter and put the oil in (which is supplied) it fired up first time, got to pressure quickly and provided a steady, uniterupted flow at 80psi.
I highly recommend this item to anyone looking to invest in a compressor.
Incidentally we're going to be using it with a suction fed sandblast unit and were told to expect to pay around £350 for a compressor with the features this has!"

first class
"Received the next day, minimum needed for assembly just add the wheels and oil! Good output and quiet."
- Mr paul elliott
Great value
"I also had the fuse blowing problem. I find that I need to start it up from empty each time, and hold the relief valve open for a few seconds when I switch it on, after that it runs fine. Excellent value for the spec, it keeps up well with all of my tools."
- Steve Loft
Fuse Problem
"Note to Axminster - I gave this 5 stars because it works well and is a good price. However it gets minus 5 for the bother I had sorting it out and you owe me a dozen fuses."
- Mark Saunders
If you need a compressor buy this
"Great Value, arrived next day. Has not blown my fuses, if it blows yours I suggest you make friends with an electrition, there is nothing wrong with the compessor. If I was looking for a petty niggle I would have liked a direct out avoiding the regulator. But that can be ignored, its great value."

AW30HP COMPRESSOR
"GREAT COMPRESSOR.FOR MONEY.
HAS NOT BLOWN MY FUSES STARTS UP ANY TIME WEATHER AIR IN TANK OR NOT."
- Mr KEITH MONTAGUE
Very very good
"It is not blowing my fuses, full with air or not.
Plugged it in and it worked first time! Another fine Axminster buy."
- Mr barry broad
Having read the reviews
"Well I bought one with the 10% discount offer that pops up now and again. Great value. It did leak air, but a phone call to Tech Services advised me to check the non return valve and sure enough there was a small bit of swarf in there. I cleaned it out and the air leak was cured. Ready to connect to my plasma cutter now and think about a sand blast hkit as well."
- Mr J MACAULAY
Great tool
"I was apprehensive about the power supply comments and was prepared to swap it around with my 16a table saw connection but it works perfectly on normal socket. Good value and a great tool."
- Mr gerard davey
Does the job for me
"My first compressor was cheap and cheerful and packed in after 18 months so I bought this one. I am using it to build an aircraft (drilling/rivetting) and I wish I had bought this at the beginning of my project. I start it with the drain open so no load and then gradually close it and I have not had any trips/fuses blown as a result. The first compressor delivered would not burst into life and Axminster were brilliant at arranging collection/delivery. Highly Recommended"
- Bob Ellis
Recommended but...
"I agree with all the other comments. Excellent VFM. Plenty of power. Unfortunately the comments about the mains supply are spot on. My whole workshop is fed from a 16A MCB on the main board. This compressor trips it 2 out of three startups - only thing that ever has (damn nuisance - I've ordered a surge current limiting thermistor - hope it works!)."
- Mr Mike Parkin
16A supply recommended
"Based on my experience I would say that a 16A supply is definitely required. As others have indicated it has a voracious appetite for 13A fuses if you try to run it on a square pin plug. Once on a 16A line its happy and works well _provided_ you don't try to start it from cold with a partly full tank. In this situation it is prone to stall and pop its trip. The lesson here is to read the instructions and always empty the tank at the end of each session. That gives the motor an easier ride when the pump is cold and allows it to warm up with minimum load. Once warm its perfectly happy and supplies plenty of air for all bar the most greedy tools.
For the money, this compressor is excellent, but it shouldn't really be sold with a 13A plug. If it was sold with a 16A plug the motor could be upgraded to handle the cold start problem.
Hence 4 stars."

Eats 13A fuses
"Like others say it is great when it works, but does blow a lot of Fuses, I'm going to swap mine to a 16A supply and see how I get on"
- Mr Richard Martin
Very Good Product
"I've been using this compressor for about 18 months now and am very pleased with it. It did blow 13A fuses quite regularly but Axminster sent me (free of charge) a 16A plug/socket. Now, on a dedicated 16A spur, I have no starting problems at all. Note: use a "slow-blow" MCB in your fuse box for this compressor (ask your electrician) and you shouldn't have any problems - I don't."

Needs 16amp supply in some areas
"Its a very good value item but beware I have had to return mine as it blows 13amp fuses immediately. You may need a 16 amp supply."

aw30 compressor
"I bought this for the spec which is high. When it works, its good,if noisy. However,I've had endless trouble with cold/hot/empty/full starts.Recently, the motor burnt out(just outside guarantee),so I had it rewound at my own expense, and now its snapped a conrod. As I said, its outside the guarantee,so no joy from Axminster.I wont be bothering to fix it.I'll spend a bit more and get a decent one.You get what you pay for......."
