Axminster Medium Duty Bench
A traditionally designed beechwood bench equipped with heavy duty top, tool well at rear and two wooden vices with central screw and twin support bars. Built to the same high standards as the larger benches but, being smaller in overall size, will fit more easily into the domestic workshop. The frame members are 35mm by 80mm, the top is a substantial 30mm thick with 90mm deep edgings and there is a total of 12 dog holes for clamping longer lengths of timber with the tail vice. The overall width of the working surface is 490mm, including a tool well of 150mm.The end vice is 305mm wide and the front vice 420mm, giving plenty of holding width for large pieces of timber. Tool storage is catered for by an underslung drawer, 450mm long, and a full width shelf. The bench is supplied flat packed so home assembly will be required.

"Very solid bench at 70kgs. Assembly Instruction consisting of line drawings quite poor. The picture of the assembly shows the leg supports wrong way round. The narrower part of the cross member should face the rear to engage the tool well.
The drawer is made of cheap chipboard and when mine was delivered the back had separated from the sides, quite disappointing when compared to the quality of the bench. One call to APTC and I was promised a replacement with no fuss."

Review
"As for previous reviewer, incorrect assembly instructions, broken drawer (cheap and nasty) but very good bench. I also had 4 washers missing that were shown in the instructions, although with the incorrect instructions who knows if they should have been there or not? Shame to spoil a very good banch with these small annoyances, especially as they couldn't have saved much in the way of cost. Dave."
