Axminster FS24 Single Speed Fretsaw

This is a high quality trade-rated fretsaw with a full 610mm(24") capacity between the blade and the back of the throat. General construction is of cast iron with a 520 x 280mm surface ground table mounted on ball bearings and tilting from 0-45° for bevel cutting. An adjusting bolt and locknut is provided to ensure that the table returns exactly to the horizontal. The blade support arms, aluminium for low inertia and minimum vibration, are mounted on separate pivots which ensure a true vertical motion for the blade. Both pin-end and plain blades can be accommodated, the pinned ones just drop into grooves in the carriers and the plain ones are clamped into position with small knurled knobs. Blade tension is easily adjusted by means of a quick-action knob at the rear of the machine. The hold-down foot, which also doubles as a safety guard, can be adjusted up and down so that the timber cannot ride up under the action of the blade. This is a heavy duty machine with good cutting capacities, both depth and width, which is highly suitable for serious craft or joinery work.
