These are hexagonal section blades with a hexagonal bolster for extra purchase with a spanner should the need arise. What really sets them apart is that the blade passes all the way through the handle and is topped by a solid metal cap to take, if needed, hammer blows. That's what we call a heavy duty screwdriver.
