Axminster AWSMS10 250mm Slide Mitre Saw
The Axminster pull over mitre saw, unusual in that the head slides in and out on one single bar guided by a bearing system under the base of the saw, has an outstanding cut capacity of 75 x 295mm. The base assembly can be swivelled 45° to the left and 50° to the right for mitre cutting and the head can be tilted to the left for cutting compound mitres. The saw is also fitted with a trenching facility. The 1,500W brush motor, operated by a trigger switch under the handle, is fitted with an electronic brake which brings the blade to a stop in just a few seconds, an excellent safety feature. Timber sits on support bars on both sides of the saw and is secured by a clamp positioned either to the right or left hand side of the saw. Another excellent feature is the narrow beam laser which can be adjusted to provide an accurate guide line for the saw blade. Dust collection is either into a dust bag or the 38mm diameter outlet connected to an extractor. The unit can be mounted either on the bench or used with the Axminster mitre saw stand (200087) to make an excellent floor standing saw for site use. Supplied complete with service tools, dust bag, cut length gauge and TCT blade.

Well made, accurate saw
"For the 18 mths I've owned this saw, it has proved reliable and accurate (I had been a little uncertain re the single tube slide, but the design is sound).
Definitely benefits from an upgrade to a high quality blade for top quality cuts however.
Supplied clamp is fairly limited but any one with even modest workshop facilities can easily fabricate other styles themselves."

Good saw
"I've used this saw for over about two years in a school, preparing wood for class. Has worked well.
Only slight problem was the blade guard. A little plastic lug broke off it, which meant that it wouldn't retract, and I had to buy a new guard. The guard was available from Axminster and was pretty cheap so no major probs."
