Butt Hinge Marking Gauges

Designed for marking the position of hinges on both doors and door jambs, it makes chiselling out the hinge recess easy. Mark the position of the butts, set the butt gauge on the mark and strike squarely with a hammer. Three hardened and ground edges mark exactly the area to be removed making chiselling out simplicity itself. A nicker on the upper surface is used to mark the depth required for the hinge.
