Design fault

This vice looks good and looks quality, however there is a design fault in that the ball clamp does not work properly when used as a woodcarvers vice, which it was sold as such to myself. Also, the tightening lever is barely long enough to get purchase.

Naughty but nice

Usual Proxxon quality, in other words good but flawed. I had to tighten the screw holding the ball to its stem and on another example I had to file off the casting seam on the ball itself to allow it to swivel cleanly. However, having done that they are solid and otherwise excellent. The ball clamp works fine.

Not good at all

The ball clamping mechanism does not hold the vice in imposition and it moves with little pressure. Stanley sells a little vice very similar to this one that actually works very well and cost much less.
