Strong, long opening viceThis vice is the same as one i used at college, it says plain screw but i don't think 3mm screw is heavy duty enough, for the fixings i used 10mm bolts and now it's not floppy like with just the wood screws. I made a DIY workbench from fence posts 70x70 with half housing and mortice and tennon joints and its heavy duty qualities mean both vice and table are definitely not going anywhere anytime soon, the vice itself looks like it is built to last more than a lifetime as its solid metal you just can't go wrong with it. The vice allows the user to work with wood a lot easier especially if you don't have a load of machines to do the work for you!! Working with wood vertically is especially important as i don't have to struggle on my sawhorses!! It's a bit small but don't be fooled because you will get good compression from it, i measured the opening at 194 mm minus the wood i cut for the front screws to countersink into. Keep it out of the rain and oil it will last for as long as you live. The only reason i didn't give 5 star for the features is because there's no quick release which would be nice but you can't have everything i guess. It's a must have for any carpenter, you can't do proper work without one. I would not reccomend it for a mobile bench as the weight of it like 9kgs will tip over something light-medium duty, its meant for a large permanent work bench
