The making of kitchen doors, bath panels and even frame made furniture can be achieved with a table mounted router and scribe cutter set. Come and learn the art of kitchen door and jointing from our expert tutor.
This one day course explains setting up of the router and table, the use of these cutters and the different moulding styles. You’ll also cover the best ways of cutting the two parts of the joint to give the cleanest finish. This will all be explained with the safety aspect in mind, with each stage being demonstrated with clear advice. Once the doors are made, it is possible to use the router to cut the recesses for the hinges.
You will start your day with a welcome talk, including a hot drink, health and safety brief and a breakdown of the machines you will be using.
Some experience with the router is required.
The minimum age is 14 years old and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the course and must not be left unattended during class hours. If you would like to read our terms and conditions click here.
Great way to learn in a very friendly and informative environment
This course was a great introduction to door making and using the UJK Technology Router Table. I have attended several courses at Axminster, great way to learn in a very friendly and informative environment. Already booked another course for wood carving.Anon, Making Kitchen Doors & Jointing
I enjoyed the mix of instruction and practice, which was just right
I also appreciated how Jason gave me individual attention; helping me solve problems with my router and advising me on how to tackle routing tasks which were not covered in the course. The course was well thought out, was paced correctly and taught with humour. Jason was very knowledgeable and often gave tips which you would never get from a book and which solved a problem without having to buy more hardware.John S, Beginners Routing Course (2 day)
