What our students say...

Can't wait till my next course...

My partner and I attended a 2 day woodturning course here in May, it consisted of 6 attendees plus the tutor. We can't fault it, Colwyn the tutor was excellent, he showed each step clearly and patiently answered the many questions we all had. Tea, coffee and cakes were provided mid morning and two large platters of sandwiches plus more cake and drinks at lunchtime, we certainly didn't need a large evening meal. All tools and equipment were provided and we were allowed to keep our wood turned items and the instruction booklet. We were also given a certificate at the end of the second day. We are already eying up the next course to attend.

Definitely not like being back at school!

I attended the two day course on metal milling. Each day was 9-5 with a break for lunch. It's all hands-on, no classroom-style lectures here. Each student has his own mill and there are a maximum of four students per course. The instructor (Bob) was excellent and had plenty of time for each student. All in all an excellent foundation course for model engineering or anyone else who needs to know how to use a milling machine. I can thoroughly recommend the Axminster Skill Centre, the pace of the course was just right and I came away feeling much more confident about using my own milling machine at home.
