Axminster AWSBS2 Bandsaw
The Axminster AWSBS2 two speed bandsaw comes complete with floor standing cabinet, enhanced rip fence and mitre fence. Fabricated from sheet steel with cast iron table and alloy wheels, the bandsaw has several features usually only found on bigger machines. The stiffness of the steel fabrication allows the blade tension to be much higher than most bandsaws of this size which helps to reduce blade vibration. The blade is well supported with ball bearing guides both above and below the table. Unusually in a bandsaw of this size the back edge of the blade runs on the face of the rear thrust bearings rather than the side. The cast iron table has a groove in which the mitre fence slides and is fitted with a rigidly clamped extruded aluminium rip fence. Both doors are fitted with micro switches so that if someone was tempted to open a door whilst the machine is in use then the motor will cut out.

Amazing value!!
"This really is amazing value for money. Don't expect it to be perfect, but for the price I was totally impressed. Motor could do with being a bit more powerful and the mitre fence is pretty useless but for £125 I reckon you cant go wrong. Oh and the size isnt right on the specs - because of the table it is about 52cm wide, not 42. "

"Great value for money. I had a little trouble getting the blade to run true, but once set up ( it was probably me! ) it a great little piece of kit. Well worth it."

"Great, tricky to adjust/set up with all those rollers, good fence, Overall fine smaller machine.
Excellent value"

Great value small bandsaw
"For the money I think this is very hard to beat. Setting up can be a fiddle but once you get the knack changing blades is easy enough that you can do it in minutes. I have had the previous model for longer than I remember and used it for everything from cutting tennons to ripping 8 foot lengths of 6x2 down to 3x2 (take it slow and buy some roller stands beforehand!). Quick tip to set the rip fence: use a steel rule and measure from the mitre fence slot to get parallel to the blade. My only regret is I didn't buy one years before i did!"

Brilliant (for the price)
"Romped through a 120mm branch of seasoned oak. Plus a stand thrown in. Brilliant value!
I think it had been bashed in transit as I had to alter the "do not alter" box trap to get the blade to track on the bottom wheel and allow me to set the top wheel tracking. Also the main tracking adjust screw was bent and binding on the cover, and one of the cabinet panels was bent. It was Boxing Day and I wanted to play so it didn't get sent back..
Tracking adjust worked better once I'd taken the wobbly edges off the screw end.
Finally: the pictures suggest you don't put washers under the heads of the cabinet screws - you do!"

"A Great bit of kit for the small workshop. The only gripe I had was trying to fathom out how to secure the rip fence properly. But apart from that ITS Great wondered how I managed without it for so long."

Mr Royston Whiting
"Agree with prevoius comments, rip fence fiddly to set, blade tracking took a time to set up. Received with plastic end cap on top smashed but another sent next day...not sure if this transit damage affected the line up. However, machine runs sweetly after the running in period. Generally well pleased and the cupboard base could be shelved out for good tool storage area."

"Having lost my trusted Delta bandsaw last week, after 15 years of service, I could not believe how much innovation had moved on. Yes it could benefit from a larger motor, but for the money this bandsaw is excellent value for money, and does the job, albeit slowly. However, do expect to spend some time in assembly and setting up the guides etc"

Not enough OOMPH !!!
"On the face of it a good value specification and a soundly constructed piece of machinery with a handy cabinet
However the paint finish of the machine was poor and after use with a variety of blade types and timber sizes I have concluded that the motor size is not adequate for the size of timbers the throat can accomodate.
This machine would benefit from a larger motor"
