The Stanley Sweetheart chisels are based on the original 750 series socket chisels. Designed for striking and paring, the hardwood handle provides a comfortable feel that transfers energy effectively when struck by a mallet. It also provides a wide butt end, or large sweet spot, for striking accuracy. They have high quality EN31 carbon steel blades with narrow side bevels which flatten and sharpen quickly giving a durable cutting edge which is ideal for woodworkers. The hardwood socket handles are replaceable and require setting prior to use. These delicate looking chisels are well balanced and genuinely hard working chisels.
The sets are supplied with a suede leather tool roll.
4 piece sizes: 6mm(1/4in), 12mm(1/2in), 18mm(3/4in) and 25mm(1in).

Sweetheart chiselsJust purchased the 8 piece set after reading many highly favourable reviews! They look beautiful and the milling of the chisel has been done very well. I have flattened all the backs down to a mirror finish, each taking about 10 mins approx! The larger two took a little longer as the hollow was minimally bigger! I am extremely happy with them and glad I chose these over the very expensive alternatives. For me the only difference would be the time required to improve the back finish!

What's not to like?Like many people I have a collection of tatty second hand chisels, some of dubious quality and never the right sizes needed. I looked for quite a while for a good quality second hand set but after seeing a set of Marples going for more than twice the amount of this set I gave up! Seeing a couple of favourable reviews elsewhere I bought these. The backs were pretty flat requiring very little work, they also took an edge and most importantly keep it well. The handles took a quick sanding to remover the finish on the socket, a quick spray of hairspray and they've seated and none have come loose since. The chisel roll is also very nice. In a time when Stanley are taking a bashing for quality these buck the trend, I don't see myself ever needing to buy another set of chisels.
