In Detail

The Original True Angle tool is the world's fastest and easiest angle making tool available. Just rotate the blades and read the dial. The hairline locates the exact angle within a tolerance of 5/1000ths of an inch. The blades rotate 360° in both directions. To lock the blades, lightly tighten the finger nut. To unlock the blades rotate the top blade anti-clockwise. The Original True Angle replaces every triangle, protractor, try square, bevel square, rafter square, framing square, combination square, or any other angle making template presently manufactured anywhere in the world. Made of special plastic the True Angle is virtually unbreakable.

Cute, handy, but ultimately it's not easy to be accurate with it.

It's light and easy to carry/have around. Mine also seems to be pretty accurate. But:

- The base of the wing-nut locking mechanism adds height below, so it's impossible to lay it level on a surface -- so the angle is measured incorrectly;
- If you hold it up a little from a surface, it's too flimsy to hold itself straight horizontally -- so the angle is measured incorrectly;
- While you're measuring, the flimsy plastic tends to buckle/bend a little -- so the angle is measured incorrectly;
- As it's transparent, you often can't easily see where the protractor ends and the wall starts -- so you end up measuring the angle correctly;
- The diameter of the centre "circle" is pretty wide, so if you're measuring in tight spaces, the arc is too big to measure anywhere near the corner (e.g. to add small window-ledgesin an old building (where walls are not straight) and you need to measure right into the angle).

Admittedly, I was using this in a set of tight spaces, with uneven walls; for large uncomplicated angles where access is easy, it may be fine.

I will be buying something better -- specifically something more rigid.

Not accurate

I set this to 90 degrees and checked it's accuracy like you would a combination square, way off! The plastic is a bit too flimsy and difficult to line up to the edge of anything because it's clear. I will be returning it...

I needed a good quality and accurate way of measuring angles, and ended up looking at this. I was initially put off by the plastic, and it does feel quite flimsy. But:
It is simple to use.
It is very accurate.
It is easy to read - once I remember to put my glasses on...

Simple and accurate reading of angles. The clearly marked scales are very easy to read, easy to read off angles, and easy to transfer them, an excellent protractor.
