In Detail

Manufactured by Veritas®, Parf dogs were designed by Peter Parfitt, an online reviewer and regular contributor to woodworking magazines. Parf dogs let you take advantage of the CNC produced grid of holes on the Festool MFT/3 multifunction table. The dogs are available in two sizes: 10mm high bench dog(504542) and 70mm (504543) high Parf dogs. By using a combination of bench dogs and Parf dogs to position your work and guide rail, you can easily achieve accurate repeatable cuts at 45° and 90°. Machined from stainless steel, each dog has a post that fits into the 20mm holes of the MFT/3 table top. Each size of dog is supported on the surface of the bench by a thicker boss or collar, 25mm in diameter and 10mm high, which provides a good bearing surface and stability in use. For additional security, each dog has a threaded hole to fasten it from below the table with an MFT3 accessory clamping knob (not included) or an inexpensive knob available separately.

The two types of dog can be used for a variety of different purposes. Aside from its use as a low-profile stop, the small dog can be inverted and inserted from below the table top to exploit its M8 threaded through hole as an anchor point. The bench dogs can also be used to accurately set up the fence and guide rail on the MFT3 and the Parf dogs are great for making trammels for circular or arched router guidance. If you don't own a Festool table then a super accurate DIY cutting table can be produced utilising the 102278 Parf Guide System and 19mm MDF sheet.

Great kit designed by a fantastic person!

This product is worth anybodys money! A delight to use and the combination of the application jig is well worth it.
This product will save you hours in squaring boards. An ideal product for your average work bench or more expensive festool setup! (Thanks Peter, Axminster, Veritas)

ideal accessory for an MFT-table

I bought my two pairs of each of the dogs months ago and use them frequently in two of the older (smaller) MFT tables. On my MFTs the dogs do an excellent job and fit precisely into the holes. No play at all but it also doesn't require any force to take them in or out of the table. Being manufactured very precisely from stainless steel they are built for more than a lifetime. Those knobs from Festool are excellent to fix the devices in those holes, but very similar knobs from the local do-it-yourself-store are exactly as precise for a fraction of the cost. Excellent idea - perfectly manufactured - very recommendable!

Not a good fit

I bought these dog to accurately set up my festool mft. The problem is they're a very loose fit in the hole, meaning I can't use them for this job.

Too tight for my MFT table

Excellent idea, which I looked forward to use. But I am almost unable push the parfdogs into the holes of the table. Need a hammer to get them back out. Table is 5 year old. Did Festool change hole-diameter?

Otherwise; very quick delivery from Axminster - only three days to Norway!

very very good

What an excellent but simple idea, and they do the perfect job of supporting wood.
