At Axminster we are always looking for ways to make things easier when working, and we have come across a couple of items that we think will solve many problems.
We're sure you sometimes - like us - have trouble finding wood that is blemish free; often there is a dead knot, sap pocket or split in the the very piece that you need and will show on the finished item. Well, we think we have found a good solution that will save you time and money.
Take a look at our real wooden knots - great for pine repairs. Also the Minispot - a neat solution using a biscuit jointer, Minispot blade and wooden patch. We have to say that whilst testing these prior to stocking we were very impressed with the repair they both gave and these will be a great addition to any workshop!
We are also offering two tried and tested wood fillers, both are excellent and highly recommended by ourselves.
This has to
be one of the neatest ideas for patch repairs or concealing
a screw or bolt head.
Simply bore out the required size of
hole and insert a real knot. This removes the need
for an exact timber match and will give an almost
invisible fill. Available in four sizes - 10, 15,
20 and 25mm - and sold in packs of 50. A mixed pack
of 100 is also available containing 25 knots of each
size.

With
the CMT Minispot Blade and the matching inserts,
you have a great solution to replace those horrible
resin pockets that can plague your best efforts for
better results.
Using a biscuit jointer and CMT Minispot Blade you
can now remove a maximum 65mm long pocket of varying
widths and glue in a ready made patch that fits exactly,
and by planing flush you have a solid repair. Less
plunge depth will result in a shorter patch repair.
The
100mm disc (22mm bore) has 4 tungsten micro grain
industrial cutting teeth, its anti kick back design
ensures safety, whilst its balance and design cleanly
cuts.
