This bench mounted professional picture framing trimmer produces an unmatched accurate mitre. With knives set at 90°, both sides of a mitre can be cut simultaneously. Adjustable rebate supports ensure that delicate rebates are supported, these can be locked in place for multiple cuts. The cast iron fences can be adjusted through 45° and have sprung pin stops for the 90° setting. These are set into the robust, cast iron table. Twin plate steel support tables are fitted. The RH table is quite long and includes a length measuring system and vernier rule which is used to determine the outside moulding length with compensation to accommodate the moulding width. The blades are extremely hard with a super sharp edge to produce a glass-like finish, even on difficult timbers. The smooth blade action is via a long handle on the bench model, or foot operated on the floor model with a stroke length stop bolt. Both of these machines are robust, can be adjusted to maintain accuracy over time and would suit a small scale picture framer very well. Minimum length or workpiece is only 100mm. N.B. This machine should be used to "trim" or guillotine thin slices of no more than 6mm from a frame moulding, not to make a mitre cut from a blank length of material in one cut. We recommend the use of a mitre saw with a fine tooth blade for the initial cut in large mouldings.
