could be tougher

feel the metal is not hard enough. When flattening a stainless steel wire (1.4mm) with hammer the anvil easily dents.
i now have a non smooth surface after only a few uses.
Feel it should not do this. i thought anvils were hard iron considering their heritage.

Anvils should be soft!

The previous review says that the anvil is of soft metal. I always was under the impression that anvils were meant to be soft so that hammers etc did not damage their faces and/or send fragments flying because the striking surface was too hard.

5Kg Anvil

Nice weight and casting was well finished, but I found the steel used to be a little soft for my liking, really only suitable for use in light craft and perhaps best used when working with softer metals.
