Not thank you to concepter

I bought this product for my new toy AH106PT. You do not imagine how hard is to place it. However there is only 2screws! It's hard because you have to put your arm inside the machine, totally blind, to hold the nut.
I spent approx 1H30 at placing those. I am really angry against the people who made it.

Works well!

I bought the device during a 'midweek madness' special offer - otherwise it would have been rather expensive. I agree with other reviewers that it should be fitted as standard. A word of caution - the bolts holding the thicknessing shaft collar are not captive, accessing the nuts means removing the side panel (not a difficult job) but unless you have arms like a gorilla, this is a 2 person job! Fitted with the aid of a friend in about 10 minutes. Very pleased overall.

Very good, needlessly hard to fit and expensive.

A very nice gauge that really should be standard on this planer, because the standard gauge is all but useless. As others have said this is needlessly difficult for one person to fit, and could be made a lot easier if only the lock-nuts were captive. I understand the need for the ‘Nyloc’ feature, but that makes the job more difficult. At one stage I thought of removing the motor but didn’t. Maybe that is the process, but how would I know because there are no instructions. Why not? Anyway, I persevered and the gauge is very good but why is it so much more expensive than the similar device for Jet machines?

Good gauge, fiddly fit, should be standard

This is a nice gauge. It took about 45 minutes to fit, but a large part of that was working out what to do, and me fitting the back plate on upside down the first time!

It works really well, and I'm glad I bought it, but it was a fiddle to fit. Two people could fit this in less than 10 minutes, but for one person it's a bit of a pain as you have to stick your arm right up inside the machine to reach the locknuts, then you struggle to see the hex bolts.

Axminster should fit these as standard, even if it means increasing the price of their planers.

A essential device for setting up

I fitted this to my AT107PT as it was difficult getting on my knees. It takes a bit of thought and 1 hour to fit, now all is super. I wished Axminster made the modification.
