Very pleased with my new lathe, does everything a bigger lathe can do

I have been using lathes all my working life but never had one of my own before. I am very pleased with my new lathe, it does everything a bigger lathe can do but in a compact size. The swing of 90mm means I can have work pieces of up to 180mm diameter (thats over 7 inches) plenty big enough for any thing I might work on. The lead screw allows for powered long feed and if the gearing is set up correctly thread cutting as well also as the lead screw can be reversed you can turn from either end or cut left hand threads. Vernier scales on the cross feed and compound slide allow for accurate turning of parts and the compound slide can be adjusted to different angles to permit turning of tapers. The only thing I can see that might be a little restrictive is the headstock bore of 20mm which limits longer parts to this diameter but then you have to go up to the C8 lathe at nearly £2000 to get a bigger headstock bore. I gave the lathe five stars for value as I bought mine for just over £400 before the November 2016 price increase, even so it's still a lovely little lathe for under £800 and the cheapest fully functioned lathe available from Axminster Tools. One job already completed and two others started from simple decorative knobs through items to hold fishing tackle to repairs and improvements on my motorcycle the list of things I want to make is growing every day. I can see it will not be long before I make a trip to Axminster to pick up a few accessories for my lathe to increase the range of things I can do with it.
