Description

In Detail

This is an excellent compact router table with a 609 x 406mm table top and a useful base cabinet. This table is designed with space saving in mind, but still offers great facilities for use on site or in the workshop. Included is a full width fence with a feather board and length stop running in a T-track. The fence wings are adjustable for width and the whole assembly can be moved backwards or forwards in T-section tracks embedded in the table surface. A 58mm dust extraction port and an adjustable safety guard are also provided. The cabinet is made from melamine coated composite material and has two doors with concealed cabinet hinges. Internal dimensions are 530 x 330mm with a height of 395mm. The phenolic insert plate is the same size as used in our other Axminster router tables and can be upgraded with our aluminium router plate if required. Many types of router can be accommodated by simply drilling the insert plate to suit the base of your router and instructions for this are included. This router table is the nicest bench top unit we have ever seen and justifies a place in many small workshops.

Well worth the money

I spent a long time debating whether to buy this table. Having read the reviews I was concerned about the comments relating to the insert plate flexing under the weight of the router. In the end I couldn’t justify the price of a UJK one and decided to go for it.
I shouldn’t have worried, this table is amazing value for money. I have a Bosch GMF 1600 CE 1/2" Router which weighs just over 4kg, I’ve mounted the fixed base to the table which using the concentric circles and the centering cone supplied with the router was so easy. I also drilled a hole for the fine adjuster in the plate so I don’t need to fiddle around with an upside down router to adjust the height and the router easily slides out for changing the bit. The insert plate is 9.5mm thick and there is zero sag with my reasonable heavy 1/2" router.
Overall I’m really impressed. For the money, you can’t go wrong.

Wish I didn't buy this...

I wouldn't buy this again, the insert plate limits your options regarding which router to use as I wanted to use my small DeWalt D26200 as the height of the bit would have been easy to adjust, however, I've had to use my large plunge router on the table insert as the base is bigger so it fits fit. The downside to this is that I have to somehow plunge my router upside down which is impossible to get completely accurate. I'm not happy, I wish I could get my money back.

Great Router Table!

I have recently purchased this router table and put it all together. I have a Bosch POF 1400 router and they work together fine. Mine did not come with the instructions for the inset plate so I had to work it out as I went along but it is all fairly straighforward. If you would like a complete look at this I have created a video on youtube. https://youtu.be/Omsks8Bxq2o

Superb!

Fantastic value, superb piece of engineering. Fitted together amazingly well with only minor adjustment to one of the doors being required. Fitted my Makita Router to it with ease- there is a slight pull down with the heavy router (6kg) but nothing to write home about. Would have cost me twice as much to make so hats off to Axminster for yet another super product.

Router plate is worthless

I got this as I don't have the time to build a router table myself, and it didn't cost much more than it would have if I bought the raw materials. Whilst I cannot fault the main body nor top of the of the unit. The phenolic router insert plate might as well be made of chocolate. I mounted my T11 - which I bought at the same time in the same shop - and the plate sagged by almost 2 mm. I didn't realise at first, it only became apparent after I'd cut a test sliding dovetail, and I found that the shoulders were a couple of mm short of the face. Once you remove the router then the plate springs back to being perfectly flat. In short it's not fit for purpose. I went back to the shop and the assistant said it was probably because the router was quite heavy duty. That seems a poor excuse to me, given that the T11 is a very popular table based router. So I ended up buying the 6mm UKJ aluminium plate (and the necessary HSS bits to mount the router) - although from what I've read this might be equally bad for non-flatness. Time will tell. In short, don't buy this table if you have a large router. It will cause you grief.
