In Detail

A simple but effective jig for cutting gentle tapers on the saw bench. Made of aluminium extrusions, the jig is held against the rip fence with the work sitting against the stop on the jig. The jig and the work are passed over the saw bench as one to cut the required taper. Angle range 0°-16°.

Great value, simple accessory

I'd thought about building something to do this job but, at this price, it was faster and likely not much more expensive to buy off the peg. It's a simple device but solid and easy to put together. The lock washer ensures that the angle doesn't slip in use, and the little angle scale is (surprisingly for this type of thing) accurate and reliable. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Use with care

The washer that holds the angle can easily be shifted, especially if using a feather board. Not robust or reliable.

Does what you want it to

I've been thinking about making one of these for ages, but then bought one. It's a simple bit of kit, and works a treat. The scale is pretty accurate as well, which makes it really simple and fast to setup. All the right bits were in my box, and "building" was simple enough.

Taper jig.

Just another box that Ax move without paying much attention to the contents. Will be fine once I've changed the washers for the correct size and added a nut that was missing. Washers not mentioned in the so-called instructions that tell you nothing, just health and safety blurb. As the instructions say, the 'prefect' accessory.
