In Detail

These sash clamps exhibit a high clamping force of 2500 Newtons (250 Kgs in easy understand terms) yet weigh in at 1.1 kgs - 1.5Kgs in weight per clamp typically adding 6Kgs when used in 4's clamping up panels. The jaws have an intentional "toe in" that angles the jaws slightly inwards so that under pressure the wood has a minimal force down into the clamp. Under maximum pressure, all clamps will bow slightly especially when used at their maximum capacity even with this bow the toe in will compensate for the angular movement of the jaw face. In most instances, these clamps work exceptionally well by placing two on one side of the work and two on the opposite side. Large rubber-faced pads on the jaws protect the work from the pressure applied by the jaw, these pads can be easily removed if needed. Unlike much heavier steel clamps the aluminium bar does not react with any glue excess marking timbers such as oak etc. For certain applications, the active clamp head can be removed and reversed to create a spreading clamp.

These clamps come highly recommended they are well made, versatile in use and have a high clamping pressure of 250Kgs per clamp.

My go to clamps

Have several of these and used countless times. Just finished clamping a large table top. The jaws are not square to the bar and there not meant to be. Check out The “toe” feature pushes the panels into the bar meaning the clamped panels remain flat. The heads are large and don’t mark the timber.
Not cheap but what’s the point in cheap clamps that don’t work!

not square

These feel solid at first, but the heads are not square to the body resulting in very poor and unevenly distributed clamping pressure. Also, after about a year of use the springs have gone in the adjustable tail

Very poor

Thise are nice and solid but both ends are nowhere near square to the bar, the sliding end is a long way out. They get slightly better under load but still never get properly square to spread the load. For lightly pinching something they are completely useless. Also the clamp screw is very short so there is little scope for pulling a joint in without resetting the clamp several times. Buy something better.

Excellent buy

These are very good. Just about to order two more in a smaller size.
