Carefully formulated for the beginner woodturner to give you the most useful accessories, these starter kits are the perfect introduction to Axminster woodturning chucks. Made in Axminster using CNC production techniques to ensure your chuck is as accurate and reliable as possible. The 100mm stainless steel chuck body including the thread is a single piece, maximising concentricity and minimising vibration during use. The chuck features our SafetyJaw accessory mounting jaws which have rounded corners and includes a chuck key. Packed into a strong plastic storage box, this starter set includes a set of easy to use dovetail jaws (size C), into which you can also mount a matching faceplate ring and a screw chuck. The set gives you plenty of scope from mounting blanks for initial turning to final completion of a well-executed project. All you need to do is choose the chuck thread to suit our lathe.

This Chuck Took my Turning to Another LevelHaving inherited my 25 year old lathe and spent time refurbishing it I felt restricted only turning between centres and using the face plate. I had seen these chucks used on Utube and was impressed with the flexibility they provided. There were many chucks on the market and the second hand market was plentiful, however I decided that new was the best option as I didn’t want someone else’s worn chuck as it is integral to my safety. Having done my research I settled upon Axminster as they have a good reputation for high quality and precision as well as consistently good customer care, as evidenced by their feedback. I have not been disappointed as this well made chuck has done everything I require and is a pleasure to work with as I have trust in its design and quality. I purchased it from the Nuneaton store and I must say that the service and advice provided by the staff was most helpful. I am now looking to purchase additional jaws to further expand my turning options. A definite thumbs up from me, thoroughly recommended.

Took My Turning to Another LevelI inherited an old lathe from my father. It had centres, faceplates and a four jaw chuck, which I soon found out that it limited my turning options. Having exhaustively researched the internet I decided on the SK100 as it offered really good flexibility with the C Type jaws and the faceplate etc. Since I started using it I have found that I can stretch my abilities and I am now producing some very interesting items which was not possible before.
