Package comprises the GCM 12 GDL Mitre saw and the GTA 2500 W gravity rise mitre saw stand

GCM 12 GDL mitre saw
A unique saw with a very special 'Axial-Glide' system that gives the smoothest, precise cutting action of any of the mitre saws on the market today. Guided by means of a glide arm, mounted on sealed bearings and made from robust die-cast aluminium, it is maintenance-free and guaranteed to be smooth and accurate running for a lifetime of cutting. It has large capacities and a wide angle range plus dual laser-line for precise line-up before cutting and groove function. The machine saves space as it can be positioned against a wall. All controls are at the front and the scales and positive lock handles make setting the machine easy. Fitted with integrated material supports right and left of the main table, it has a back fence with a total length of 1,016mm to give maximum work support. The glide system is lockable for transport.

GTA 2500 W gravity rise stand
Combines transport without the need for lifting, working with full support of workpieces beyond a machine base and storage. It is also very quick and easy to set up and breakdown. Two universal tool mounts allow a mitre saw to be secured (other similar items could be made to fit), whilst built into both ends of the top are adjustable supports with repetitive stops enabling long pieces of wood to be supported safely while cutting. The tubular stand construction gives a very sturdy working base, once folded it resembles a sack truck fitted with two 8" pneumatic tyres that make transporting, even over rough ground, a simple job. In set-up two levelling feet ensure stability.Supplied with 60T TCT saw blade, dust bag and quick clamp

Axial glide miter saw

Had this saw now for 7 months its a dandy of a saw dead true plenty of power the standard blade is superb, i must agree with the previous comment re dust collection it dose leave a lot to be desired and the laser lacks power in sunlight but all in all its the best saw I have ever owned.

Having reviewed larger bladed mitre saws and looked at several when called into my local Axminister branch, I finally opted to buy this kit.

I was I must say initially very sceptical about the Axial glide 'thing' fearing it may be floppy and not as precise as old fashioned dual rails. However after months of use I have found this mechanism to be simply brilliant, the cut capacity of this saw is immense and the Axial-Glide mechanism does just that glide, the resistance is much less than that of a more conventional saw and no matter how dust covered it gets the glide is very smooth and has almost no resistance. As to accuracy the axial mechanism is very robust and there is no floppiness at all.

The laser is not the brightest so if you have large windows it is not great in sunlight.

The adjustment of the mitre angle, especially to fixed angles is very easy to use and locks solidly in place.

The stand is rock solid and has been folded up and down repeatedly easily by a lone operator and the cart mode makes the saw easy to move around.

The blade that comes with it is a joy to use, very quiet and easily cuts through some very large sections of oak with ease.

My saw came well adjusted but did drift a little after use, it is easy enough to get it true again once you follow the somewhat poorly written instructions.

The only slight downside is the dust collection is not always brilliant.

All in all an excellent piece of kit.

Excellent saw, you will not be disappointed.

Having read loads of reviews on 12" mitre saws I decided on the Bosch. It ticked all the same boxes as the others, but the clincher was the arm mechanism. When I got it I was very impressed, better than I was expecting as it's very smooth (adjustable damping) and accurate straight out of the box. I checked everything for square, made some test cuts and adjusted nothing. First job was some gloss white pelmets, clean cuts time after time with the supplied blade. The space saving design of the arm is very useful when working indoors as you still have room to work. The trolley is very sturdy and well designed, and goes in and out of the van with the saw still mounted very easily single handed.

Bosch GCM 12GDL Axial Glide Mitre Saw + GTA2500W Stand.

Purchased this saw to go into a busy workshop, alongside 4 other mitre saws, (2 chop saw type + 2 rail type). One of the main reasons for buying this saw, was the ability to be able to put this saw right up against the wall, but still be able to make sliding mitre cuts without having to have the saw about 300mm from the wall, as in the case of normal rail type saws. That said, this is without doubt, THE best mitre saw that we have ever had.
Straight out of the box, this saw needed no adjustments whatsoever, the accuracy was spot on in ALL test cuts made. Also, I cannot believe the actual smooth action of this saw. It really does do what it says on the box, it just glides through any type of wood that it cuts.
Like I said earlier, this saw was bought to go along side the other mitre saws in the workshop, but it seems that this is the saw of every ones choice, and the other ones are getting little use now.
Some other reviews that I have read about this saw say that it is quite heavy, I would have to disagree with this, as I think that this saw is perfectly balanced, and if you are going to use it as I do, on site as well as in the workshop, then I would suggest that you do as I did, and pair it up with the GTA2500w Stand.
I like this saw that much, that as and when the other saws need replacing, they will 100% be replaced by the Bosch GCM 12 GDL Axial Glide Saw. It makes ALL our work that much easier.
While I am writing this review, I would just like to mention the Axminster Store at Nuneaton. I went and collected my saw from them in January, and I have to say that I was really impressed with the layout of the store. They have a good selection of machines on view, plus a large amount of consumables on the shelves, and the staff are really friendly, so thanks guys, for making me feel welcome.
