I was happy with the purchase of this saw, I use it both in my shed at home and in the joinery workshop. the quality of cut is brill and the angles are accurate. I found the dust collection to be a lot better than other saws I have used ,(providing I remember to switch the hoover on), I have used this saw on a lot of oak with the blade that comes with it I have had the saw now for about 4-5 months now used almost everyday I've had no problems with it the depth stop is also good proving handy for trenching or tennons. all in all I am happy with this saw and the time it took for axminster to deliver my items was good only took two days. Thank you

Good saw after set-up

Bought this saw for use in my small workshop, mostly for furniture projects. Settled on this saw as it claimed to have all the features I wanted, e.g. capacity, soft start, laser and decent dust extraction, although being pricey. It's well made, feeling solid with nicely machined components. The sliding mechanism works very well with no play. The blade gives a very fine finish on some oak I'm using. Some niggles: the bevel angle setting was about 1.5 degrees out as was the mitre angle. The handbook explains clearly how to adjust but I was disappointed to have to do this to a brand new machine. I have not found it possible to adjust the laser line for a right hand keeper piece. The single adjustment screw doesn't seem to do much at all but the laser position is OK for a left hand keeper. The dust/chip capture is not outstanding, but I probably need a more powerful vacuum extractor. At this price I expected a workpiece end stop but I found that to be an extra cost accessory. Instead, I sourced a star knob and made my own but not to have one supplied with the saw feels like penny pinching by Bosch to me. Despite these niggles I'm pleased with the saw and it's providing a good step up in accuracy and capacity for me. As usual, the delivery from Axminster and their courier (DPD in this case) was exemplary.

Nice saw

Really like this machine nice smooth bearings and very little slop/play comparing it with my Metabo KGS254 it's in a different league the metabo's bearing are rough and there is lots of slop the only bad point is the saw came with a blunt blade Axminster promptly sent me a new blade which solved the problem

Excellent Bosch mitre saw

I agonised over which mitre saw to buy for a long time, visited the Basingstoke store for a look and got some really useful advice - thanks Alex. In the end I went for this entry level Bosch rather than anything bigger or more expensive. I am a hobby user, bought this saw about a month ago and have so far done a range of light work. Initial impressions are that this is an excellent tool. It's fairly light and compact compare to other saws (although still large) and portable. A robustly made and quality product. I also bought the stand which gives an excellent, stable base. The cut quality is good although I have been getting a small amount of tear-out on the back which should be solved by fitting a wooden sacrificial fence. The only reason I have not given five stars for 'features' is that this model has only a single bevel and single laser line. That said it has everything I need it to do.
