Its a yes from meA little longer than I expected but works well on steel or wood - easy to turn upside down to use on a bench - nearly lost my finger to it !##* - recommend buy the side attachment when using upside down.

Bosch belt sanderYes would recommend this sander. I use it belt up most of the time here it is stable, used on wood and steel. It is longer than expected but comfy to use. As usual a selection of grit belts enhances its performance. Time will tell how durable it is, but first impressions are good.

Powerful, robust sanderInitially I bought one and wasn't really taking my carpentry seriously so on endless unemployment and aquiring scrap wood from a local renovation of a nearby pub, me and dad salvaged a LOT of good quality wood but it was all splintered and really horrid appearance that would otherwise be difficult to mark out on. Introducing the Bosch PBS 75A with a coarse grit 40 sandpaper and WOW this very bad scappy, nasty scuffed up scrap wood is looking like Lumber Yard standard in a matter of a few minutes, you know splinters and paint marks really rough, rough wood has been stripped back to look clean and smooth in astonishing glory, THAT's what I'm talking about, when you salvage scrap wood the preparation of it is absolutely essential and the last few months has seen me giving this tool lots of use and it still runs as good as the day i bought it, it's tough, lasting, powerful and fast, I can't praise this tool enough and for the price well it's easily worth double and sell for double as well, i'm not sure it's the best one as i've used a makita belt sander which seemed to have more power but i fully intend to keep this for as long as possible, it does what it say it's designed to do and the magic of that is indescribeable, it's not a cheapo tool, the machine never fails to amaze me, worth buying again if ever you just cannot go wrong with it so long as you dont get your jumper caught in it *blushes* be careful with it also it weighs quite a bit so don't put pressure on it or try to sand sideways, get a hand held one for corners, vertical work. It is suitable for heavy duty work also i'd reccomend ear defenders as it is very loud
