With a working pad of 125mm the random orbit motion plus rotation ensure a good quality sand and polish on flat and curves, removing waste fast. Used single handed with low vibration this is a great machine for sanding when decorating etc. The hook and loop fastening ensures fast pad changing whilst the micro filter box draws sanding dust into it and keeps it there for cleaner working. Supplied with filter box and sanding disc.

No vaccuum compatibilityOne doesn't usually review items unless they are spectacularly good or bad. Sadly, in this case it is the latter, and I'm very disappointed. This sander doesn't have a compatible vacuum hole in the back (I'm literally not kidding). The dust collector is naturally relatively useless. I did one small job with this sander and had a hepa vacuum and air purifier on full in the room, but the plaster dust ended up going throughout the entire house caking on top of every surface. It increased the job time by a factor of 10. After spending 50 odd pounds on this Bosch Sander, I won't ever be using it again. I'm really surprised as bosch tools are usually okay. I hope bosch isn't going downhill. Speaking from experience, unless you're only sanding one small 1cm2 area (e.g. Screw hole fills) you would be better off with an el cheapo £30 sander from any brand with standard sized vacuum hole in the back, like most provide.

Very Good ValueI've had one of these for quite some time now - maybe 7 years and have hammered it. Built 5 boats, loads of oars and used it for the bulk of the sanding, plus a few repaint jobs and a whole lot besides - so it has had a very hard time. It isn't sophisticated but it does work well - and you can get spare pads. Now after a really hard life the bearings are beginning to complain - but then I reckon it really doesn't owe me anything. Simple, effective and very good value.

Good ValueHad one of these for many years and have built 5 boats using this for finishing sanding - plus loads of other projects like making oars, masts, booms, sanding down for re-finish etc as well as standard carpentry like furniture making. It has done well all that time and has just started squeaking when it is turned on - bearing going I suspect so I'll five it the odd drink of Rocket and will work it to the bitter end…… Yes there are issues with sanding pads and velcro, but you can get replacements and you can use adhesive to replace the velcro - but you get that with all of them. I have been using Abramesh and Hermes disks and a velcro pad with hard use lasts a good year. Nope when it dies it'll owe me nothing at all!!

Not at all bad for the priceI have used one of these a lot since buying it over a year ago and I have been using very cheap generic sanding disks and have had few problems after getting through probably 100 disks I replace the pad but it didn't really need changing and I have the old one as a spare.

Not great! Not for prolonged use as velcro wears out, used 4 times then started chucking pads.
