In Detail

Add a TE 600 plunge base and transform your Bosch GKF 600 palm router, making a great addition to this already universal router. By adding this base to the GKF 600 motor you can achieve very controllable, precise routing. The plunge base has all the features you need: soft grip handles, smooth plunge action (max 55mm) with sprung lock lever, depth scale in metric and imperial, micro fine depth adjustment and 7-step turret depth stop. The cutter is visible at all times due to the wide opening of 54mm on the clear sub base taking a maximum bit size of 44mm. The motor body locks into the base with a clamp. This is a great accessory for your GKF 600.

Wouldn't be without it

Excellent piece of kit, I've had mine 15 months now brought with the Bosch GKF600 palm router as a package deal. I did get the adaptor, Bosch part No ( 2610991370 ) to mount the tool less Bosch guide bushes in from Bosch and also the centre setting tool, Bosch part No ( 2608000498 ). To install and align the guide bush and its holder in the acrylic base you have to undo and remove the four machine screws that hold the acrylic sub base to the plunge base and remove it from the plunge base. Install the collet adaptor with the two supplied screws to sub base and install a guide bush ( the larger diameter the better ).Put alignment pin in the appropriate collet in palm router. Then install palm router in the plunge base with the alignment pin protruding through the base, remount the acrylic sub base loosely and slide the cone tapper side down the pin to centralise the acrylic sub base and guide bush and holder, then retighten the four machine screws into the plunge base and re-check alignment after tightening the acrylic sub base to the plunge base also pull the cone off the pin a little bit and rotate the spindle of the router by HAND to make sure the spindle runs true, when I did this, my palm router spindle was bent and Axminster tools sent a new one straight out that hasn't let me down since and I use it all the time and wonder how ever managed with out the palm router and plunge base equipped with the guide bushes and adaptor. Only downside with the palm router is that its not variable speed.

Makes a great router even better

Bought this to make more use of this great little router. In doing my research, one of the criticisms was a lack of a dust extractor for the base. In parallel to ordering the base from Axminster I managed to track down the dust extractor on a US website as it does not seem to appear in any UK write ups or Bosch specs. Good news, and please Axminster update your spec, these do now ship with the dust extractor included!!

Good quality but lacks features!

I managed to pick this base up for £50, so it was good value. It feels really sturdy and easy to control with those big handles. Simple enough to get started setting the depth of cut and push down the lever to operate plunge action.
There is no way to fit bosch's own guide bushes. Why?! It seems you need a new base for every task you undertake. To sort out the guide bush problem, I purchased a trend universal sub base and trend 30mm bush. It worked well, with no problems cutting through a worktop. It's already been mentioned, but dust flys everywhere! obviously due to lack of extraction and the plunge action is a bit stiff. I'll try greasing it up next time.
Other than that it's a decent addition and will come in useful.

Buy an alternative if you need plunge base that excepts bushes

I've already owed the gkf600 with extra bases. Unfortunately my van got robbed, hence me replacing it. You can no longer buy the gkf600 in the l-boxx ( much to my frustration). To get an l-boxx & inlay will be an additional £45-50......... That's not right
The gkf is a small neat & powerful tool despite the heat issue it suffers from.....
The te600 plunge base has not dust extraction...... Safety isn't important anymore, I love mdf dust in my lungs..... Also I cant work out how to fit a guide bush..... Il probably need some £50 additional extra all the way from Malaysia....... How many routers do you know of that you need extras to fit there own guide bushes...... Exactly... None......... The plunge base is useless on 2 counts, 1 very serious.
I will stick to my trend t5 for hinge recessing with jig.
90% of my gear is bosch but I'm rapidly loosing interest.... Te600 needs to go back to drawing board, new gear now comes in the old style cases. Gcm10sd solenoid on guard buzzes really loud from time to time...
