In Detail

This is not a finish but a paraffin wax emulsion, which is painted onto the end grain of timber to retard drying and thus prevent splitting or checking whilst the timber is being air dried or in storage.

Good product

The quantity supplied is 1000ml. This is not currently specified anywhere and nearly put me off buying the product. However, it is very useful and works well. Instructions state that you may need up to 3 coats but I have found 1 to be adequate so far. Has the consistency of single cream, spreads and adheres well. Dries quickly (10 mins) in current hot weather and leaves a waxy film on the surface as you would expect. Coverage is not brilliant, so would be an expensive option if you have a lot of logs to protect but it is fine for my purposes.
