Following the success of BLOODHOUND SSC’s first public land speed test run, we are delighted to announce the team's attendance at Discover Axminster.
The BLOODHOUND project is a global engineering adventure, using a 1,000mph world land speed record attempt to inspire the next generation to enjoy, explore and get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
BLOODHOUND SSC is a supersonic car designed to go over 1,000mph, covering a mile in just 3.6 seconds. Without a doubt the most complicated car ever built, BLOODHOUND SSC is very difficult to describe. The team are bringing with them a scale model of the car to give Discover Axminster guests a greater insight.

Discover Axminster was launched in 2015 at Bridgwater College. The event was a huge success, students and their lecturers enjoyed demonstrations from names such as Bosch, Festool, Numatic and Veritas, as well as revered designer and maker of furniture and boxes Robert Ingham.
We saw a great range of demonstrators using the usual high quality kit that Axminster supply. The level of detail of information from the exhibitors was excellent. Steve Hopper, Programme Manager for Furniture at Bridgwater College
In 2016 the event moved to Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford and followed a similar format.
Previous years saw an attendance of around 200 people. This year is set to be bigger and better than ever before. With more interactive demonstrations and the capability to host up to 1,000 guests. Watch this space…
